Our Background

Beginning July 2009, North-East Nigeria was wrecked by violence caused by the Boko Haram terrorist group, uprooting over 2 million people from their homes in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States. SPARSI was established in February 2016 by a group of concerned peacemakers, medical professionals, and community leaders who felt challenged to address this situation โ€” promoting post-insurgency healing and reconciliation through advocacy, psychosocial work, and peacemaking.
